SEC Announces International Fraud Task Force Targeting ‘Pump-And-Dump’ Schemes
The SEC has launched a cross-border task force to investigate offshore fraud and market manipulation, including pump-and-dump activity. Enforcement has extended to underwriters and auditors. It has also set a CFTC roundtable on Sept. 29 and will review governmental control factors abroad.
